gym goal, slow progression

I wish I could say that my fitness goals are right on track but as of late they are anything but. the first week of school was crazy at the Rec, with all the kids coming back to campus and flooding the gym. I miss the rec during the summer, when you have your regular bunch of elderly people power walking around the track and people who are there to generally get into shape and stay healthy. I enjoyed seeing the same people and enjoyed the freedom of being able to use the equipment that I needed and knew where to find it. since the semester has started, all of my equipment has been moved to somewhere else and the track has been crowded with people who have no clue proper track etiquitte. Another deterrence is the fact that a prior knee injury has reappeared with the presence of fluid around my knee. My knee has been giving me problems all week which has forced me into only light excercise in the form of swimming for a period of 30 minutes to an hour. the pool is luckily still quite cool in the evening and besides swim practices that take place there, it is relatively uncrowded.
