Yay! I am so happy this is the last blog entry that I have to deal with. I was kind of excited at the beginning of the semester when I heard that we would be blogging about our leisure goal, but now that I have actually done it, I have absolutely NO desire to ever blog again. I guess I should have chosen a leisure goal that would change every week like a movie of the week or something. I found it really hard to blog about my leisure goal of working out every week. I incorporated recipes every week into my blog to try and spice it up, but after a couple weeks it just became tedious and annoying. I enjoyed having the blog around so that it was another motivator to actually stick to my leisure goal, but I was also very motivated before the blog. I enjoyed sharing my recipes and workout goals with the class and even though I have not reached my overall goal, I am steadily on my way to reaching it. Advancement in my goal of being physically fit and active has to do with some of my work buddies. They too have been motivated to become more physically active and lose weight and have decided to sign up for a marathon in April. I have never ran even a half marathon so this goal is very intimidating but at the same time very exciting. One of my friends is a trained runner and actually ran in college so I am counting on her heavily to prepare me for this crazy adventure. We have a little more than 4 months to train, so it’s do or die time as far as that goes. Running is not my forte but I am heavily motivated b y a challenge and I am super excited to start training. I am planning on doing a lot of outdoor running over the break and hopefully the weather will let me do so. For some strange reason I find that when I am running outdoor my pace and time are much better than when I run indoors on the track. I am not sure if scenery has something to do with it, but I am sure that running with my friend outside has a big motivating factor opposed to running alone indoors. I have many obstacles to pass while training. I have to up my time and work on my pace and work on my breathing. I am still struggling with keeping a constant and steady breath while running which is really helpful when it comes to keeping up your endurance. I am also experiencing some pain in my knees after I run so maybe some supplements or creams can alleviate some of the pain after the run. Overall, I am very proud of myself and happy that I stuck to my goal and excited to start a new one.t one!!
