This week has been much better than the previous. My knee is finally feeling like it is back to normal. I have also tried re-arranging my schedule to allow for more time at the gym at different hours. When I can, I have tried to get my work out in around 10 a.m. I find this is when the rec is the least full. This is probably due to students having class at that time.
Regardless the reason, it is a very refreshing setting. I can comfortably lift in the weight room at that time and can pretty much hop on any machine without having to wait. The only downfall about going to the rec at that time is the fact that the rec does all their cleaning and maintenance at that time. So running on the treadmill with a guy spraying chemicals and cleaning next to you is n ot so pleasant during a cardio workout. It is actually quite disruptive to my workout when I am struggling for breath only to breathe in the smell of harsh cleaning chemicals. The diet aspect of my semester goal is going really well and I have even inspired some people I work with to start eating better. I work in a restaurant that prides itself on southern and fried foods, so for someone trying to eat and maintain a healthy lifestyle, it is hard to not have healthy options at work. Because of this, I have resulted to bringing a large tote full of healthy food to keep my options open while working all day.
